  8. Convert It! is a general-purpose unit converter.  It converts numerical and 
  9. character values using metric, imperial, and numerical measures. Choose from a 
  10. section below.

  33. This section explains how to use Convert It!.  Directions on how to use the 
  34. numbered items follows. 
  35.  
  36.  1         Choose a conversion group from capacity, lengths, others, or 
  37.            weights. 
  38.  
  39.  2         Choose the necessary conversion type from the group listed.  Each 
  40.            group has a different list or conversions. 
  41.  
  42.  3         Type the value to convert into the textbox.  The current unit is 
  43.            shown below the slider.  By 'sliding' the slider to the other end, 
  44.            the value will be converted to the other unit. 
  45.  
  46.  4         The Copy button copies the current conversion result to the 
  47.            clipboard.  This is disabled while the session is being recorded. 
  48.            The Help button launches this help file. 
  49.  
  50.  5         Checking Record session records all conversions made in the current 
  51.            session.  Unchecking it stops and clears the record. 
  52.  
  53.  6         A rotating banner displays the current conversion units.  Pressing 
  54.            the right mouse button on it will stop or start it, if it bothers 
  55.            you. 
  56.  
  57.  The transcript window is active whenever the conversions are being recorded. 
  58.  
  59.  1         A record of conversions made is listed here.  One may drag the 
  60.            contents to anther application by press-holding the right-mouse 
  61.            button.  This does not always work, and depends on the target 
  62.            application.

  64.  2         Choose between using no, concise, or extended units while recording,

  76.  3         The Copy button save the current transcript to the clipboard.  The 
  77.            Stop button closes the transcript window and stops recording.

  82. To run Convert It!, you should have 
  83.  
  84.      OS/2 Warp or above, 
  85.  
  86.      the REXX component installed, and 
  87.  
  88.      the View.exe INF file viewer. 
  89.  
  90.  Install Convert It! by running Cinst.exe.  Choose the target directory as 
  91.  either your \OS2\APPS directory, or choose your own.  Choose whether to create 
  92.  a Convert It! object on the desktop.  Then press 'Install'. You will be 
  93.  informed if the installation suceeded or not. Press 'Cancel' at any time to 
  94.  exit the installer.

  106.  To uninstall Convert It!, delete the above files from their directory, and 
  107.  remove the desktop object.

  109.  The software installer shall soon be available for all developers to use for 
  110.  their own purposes. It shall be shareware, distributed as the archive 
  111.  InstAI.zip. It will be available at ftp sites including hobbes.nmsu.edu and 
  112.  ftp-os2.cdrom.com.

  205.      Conversion results might not be as accurate as some people would like. 
  206.  
  207.      Some conversions may cause strange errors with large values, especially 
  208.       decimal, hexadecimal, binary, and character types. 
  209.  
  210.      The maximum number of characters allowed in the textbox is 32. Any longer 
  211.       results will lose all characters after the 32nd. This problem is 
  212.       especially true when converting from String to Binary numbers; convert 
  213.       only four-character strings at a time.
